Culture of Sindh


The culture of Sindh has its origin in the Indus Valley Civilization. In the layout of Sindh there are large desert region, natural resources that attract the people and specially the foreigners. In Sindh there is a river known as Sindhu or Indus River, it passes through the land and the Arabian Sea and it also shore up the oceangoing traditions among the local people. Sindhi culture is different from the neighboring region’s culture. Culture of sindh is influenced by Sufi canon and policies. Popular Sindhi Culture symbols are Raja Dahir, Shah Abdul Litif Bhitai, Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Jhulelal andSachal Sarmast. There are many famous things in Sindh that are liked by the people all around the world Like: Sindhi topi (Cap) and Ajarak, Rilli (quilt), Sindhi embroidery dresses, hand-made things and many others. Most of the home-made things are made by the women in villages by their art.
